#1: My first blog post

Hi, My name is Hannah! I have decided to start a blog to share my running adventures. But first I thought I should share some background about myself.


Here are a few fun facts:

  4. My passions are traveling, running, and fashion

  5. Some of my favorite movies include The Longest Ride and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

  6. I love to cook

  7. I have a twin brother

How and when did I get into running?


Growing up I played a ton of sports, including lacrosse, basketball, and soccer. I also enjoyed playing tennis in the summer. Being an athlete was a huge part of who I was. So naturally when I graduate from high school, I desired to maintain an active and athletic lifestyle. This is where running came in.


In 2022 I started running around 3 to 3.5 miles a day. It is funny because I used to think 3 miles was a long distance (although I know 3 miles is still a substantial distance to run). But for me now, I consider it on the lower end. This past year I started to increase my mileage. I started to get to 5 miles then to 8 miles and so on. Running became a drug. I wanted to push myself to see how far I could go.


On June 4th 2023, I ran my first half marathon. My time was 1 hour and 37 minutes. At first, my mindset going into the run was to take it easy and enjoy the race. However, I was holding a pretty good pace and decided I was going to try and stay under a 7:30 pace the whole time.


Now I am more motivated than ever to see how fast I run these long-distance races.


More than Miles


Running has helped me a lot mentally. It is the time in my day when I can clear my mind and just focus on one thing. It provides clarity, peacefulness, and a sense of accomplishment. It is not all about how fast or far I can run, but rather how it makes me feel.


I want to share this feeling with as many people as I can. I want to motivate more people to get outside and test themselves.


Running also gives you the chance to see the world from a different perspective. What I mean is that it grounds you in nature. It allows you to explore places that you would not be able to see by car and it allows you to notice the beauty that gets missed. (Sometimes I will run past a house I drive by every day and think to myself "I never knew that was there").

I especially love running in new countries or states because it is the best way to get to know the lay of the land.


What can you expect from this blog?


I want this blog to be a place where I can inspire and motivate people to get into running. I want it to be a place where we can push each other and achieve goals together.


You can expect posts about my daily runs, the equipment/products I use, funny stories, beautiful destinations to run, running news, etc.
